A vibrant town center and the incredibly beautiful surrounding countryside makes Killarney a very special place indeed. Brim full of history, heritage, activities, and world-class hospitality, Killarney is full of welcoming people, and this enthusiasm is reflected in many national and international awards, such as Ireland's Tidiest Town for 2011 and host for the 2014 Adventure Travel World Summit.

Take a leisurely walk into town to experience some of Killarney's finest attractions, including Killarney National Park, Muckross House & Gardens, and Ross Castle.

Nestled in between some of the region's finest scenery, including the Gap of Dunloe, the famous Ladies' View, and Torc Waterfall, we are just one mile from Killarney Golf and Fishing Club, the host of four Irish Opens, and a short drive to some of the worlds best links courses.

Our favorite family run restaurant in the town center. A casual environment run by a local family, Eileen O’Callaghan runs the show nightly and is a great host. Their seafood is all locally sourced and highly recommended. Nate has been known to empty the fresh lobster tank on occasion here.

Moriarty's Heather Restaurant

We are excited about the recent opening of this organic restaurant at the foot of the Gap of Dunloe outside the town of Killarney. The Moriarty family has had a landmark business for 50 years in the area and this restaurant is the newest venture in my favorite spot in the world. A brilliant idea and supported by local artisan producers stop in and ask for owner, Pio Moriarty. This is a short 5 minute drive from our home. Stop in to their shop while you’re there for great Irish gifts.

On every occasion that we have eaten here it has been outstanding. This is upscale dining at its finest. They have a small intimate bar so you can enjoy a pre dinner cocktail and this is a short walk from the house and located beside St Marys Cathederal.

The Snug

Maurice “Mush” O’Donoghue is owner and manager of the hotel and will welcome you to the Snug Bar. Mush has been co-host of several of our large golf trips over the years and has joined with us in playing tournaments in Seattle, Florida and Arizona.

He has been a lifelong friend and before our time his Grandmother employed my father in 1966 to become the first head chef in their company’s flagship hotel, The Gleneagle. Mush and Scotts are an integral part of our connection with Killarney and his pub is a must-see on your visit to Killarney.

Charlie Foley's Bar

101 New St

The oldest bar still in operation in Killarney, it is currently run by Colm Foley. He is known as the hardest working man in Killarney and a stop in for a chat and a drink is strongly recommended. This is a great place to watch sporting events and they have live music on weekends. If you meet Colm, don’t be afraid to remind him that he has consistently been the worst golfer on all of our recent trips.
